Nous y étions. Elle se soucie vraiment de ses fans. Quand la RATP annonce une interruption de service à 20h08 sur les RER B et D, pas question pour Lady Gaga de laisser ses «little monsters» en rade. Alors au lieu de 21h, il faudra attendre 21h20 pour que les écrans du stade ne s’illuminent. Durant six longues minutes introductives, Paris ne sait pas vraiment à quoi s’attendre, le décor très gris et massif semble avoir été directement importé de Russie. Dans une ambiance très Depeche Modienne, Gaga apparait enfin sur les écrans versant une larme. Puis alors que deux guitaristes et un bassiste s’avancent sur les côtés de la scène en même temps qu’une floppée de danseurs au son de la «Fugue 24 en B. mineur» de Bach, voilà Lady Gaga enfermée dans une robe métallique, les yeux bandés, qui se met à chanter «Bad Romance». Son énorme, flammes et fumigènes accompagnent ce démarrage en fanfare, qui fait immédiatement danser tout le stade. Car oui Lady Gaga a choisi de commencer par la fin : plutôt que de réserver ses tubes pour la clôture du spectacle elle préfère mettre Paris chaos debout. «Just Dance» et «Poker Face» repris en choeur par les 76000 spectateurs permettent à la Lady d’emporter la mise -même si on la voit peu, et qu’il faut attendre «Poker Face» pour qu’elle s’approche enfin du public. Ce que l’on vient de vivre était donc un prologue récréatif au véritable show ? Gaga ressurgit dans un ensemble rouge, arnachée sur une table, chantant « Alice», puis libérée, dominatrice sur «Replay». Gaga a conçu un tableau pour chaque titre, avec l’efficacité et l’engagement qu’on lui connait. Chorégraphies millimétrées, effusions musicales, rien n’est laissé au hasard dans ce «Chromatica Ball» quitte à lasser un peu vite. Au bout d’un quart d’heure, l’équipe regagne de nouveau les coulisses pour un nouvel interlude permettant de passer à l’acte 2. La suite après cette publicité Cette fois place à une tenue policière, en latex, le temps de «911» et «Sour Candy» -deux extraits de «Chromatica» mais c’est «Telephone» qui réveille le stade, enchaînée avec un «LoveGame» suave et sexy en diable. Cette alternance de fulgurances visuelles, musicales et de pauses ne permet pas vraiment au show de décoller. D’autant que si Gaga se produit dans un stade, l’affaire semble avoir été plutôt conçue pour une arena classique. On se prend à un rêver de voir le spectacle à Bercy, éventuellement à la Paris La Defense Arena, ce qui permettrait une véritable proximité. Une fois assise, seule, Gaga fend l’armure. «Je vous aime tellement Paris. N’oubliez jamais que si vous êtes différents, c’est que vous êtes "born this way"». Attaquant la chanson au piano, elle se laisse complètement envahir par l’émotion des retrouvailles -elle qui ne s’était pas produite à Paris depuis huit ans. Paris s’illumine quand résonnent les premières notes de «Shallow» LA ballade du film «A star is born» qu’elle chantait avec Bradley Cooper. Ce soir Gaga est entourée de 76000 parisiens qui n’ont d’yeux que pour elle. «J’ai cru que l’on n’arriverait jamais à se revoir à cause de cette fichue pandémie. Nous l’avons traversé, nous sommes là de nouveau tous ensemble ce n’est pas rien » sanglote l’américaine, qui n’est pas du genre à verser des larmes de crocodile. Quand Gaga rend les armes, elle n’en est que plus attachante, loin de la froideur d’une Madonna et ses provocations esthético-trashs. Gaga le sait, le sent, alors elle fait durer ce moment au piano, le temps d’un «Always remember us this way» émouvant et d’un «The edge of glory» dépouillé de ses artifices habituels. Il est bon de revenir à l’essentiel parfois, d’oublier le show grandiloquent pour ces moments de grâce. Mais pas question de terminer ainsi. «Enigma» remet les pendules à l’heure avant que «Stupid love» et «Rain on me» ne viennent conclure la soirée avec toute la folie pyrotechnique attendue. Tom Cruise n’est pas au rendez-vous, mais Paris s’envole une dernière fois avec elle. En deux heures (100 minutes si l’on ne prend pas en compte les interminables interludes), Gaga a montré qu’elle était bel et bien la reine de la pop du haut de ses 36 ans et 14 années de carrière.
